After Christmas Part 2

After Christmas Part 2

In the past, I had a habit of waiting until New Year’s Eve to put away all the Christmas decorations. Since I typically spent that evening at home, I figured it was a good time to tackle the task. I would take down the twinkling lights and carefully wrap the ornaments, reliving the joy and memories tied to each piece. However, over time, I realized that doing so felt quite disheartening. The festive spirit lingered in the air, and as I dismantled the decorations, it reinforced a sense of melancholy, marking the end of the holiday cheer and the year. Now, I’ve come to prefer taking them down earlier, allowing myself to savor the memories without the accompanying sadness.

I feel significantly happier when I take down my Christmas decorations the day after Christmas. There’s something particularly joyful about putting them up early in December, allowing me to immerse myself in the festive spirit for a longer period. By the time Christmas has passed, I’m eager to transition into a new phase.

We celebrate New Year’s Eve in a couple of enjoyable ways. One option is to stay cozy at home, where we prepare a festive meal featuring our favorite dishes. Alternatively, we might decide to dress up in our finest attire and go out to a lively celebration, soaking in the excitement of the evening while enjoying the atmosphere of our favorite restaurant or a party with friends.

With the holiday festivities behind me, I focus on cleaning and organizing my home. Starting the new year with a fresh and tidy environment is essential. I focus on my living space and my office, ensuring that both areas are neat and decluttered. This comprehensive cleaning ritual sets a positive tone for the year ahead, making me feel invigorated and ready for the challenges and opportunities.
