After Christmas Part 1-Getting back in Routine

Getting back in Routine

For me, the joy of Christmas celebrations truly culminates with Christmas Day itself. I find that the holiday spirit is best captured and appreciated when all festivities are wrapped up by then. I prefer to immerse myself fully in the traditions and activities leading up to Christmas rather than extending them into the days after. It feels more memorable and meaningful that way, ensuring that the magic of the season remains intact and vibrant during the actual holiday. The nativity set that I cherish will remain intact. My new Faery Tree will stay up for a while, it is a pleasant sight first thing in the morning.

As the shimmering glow of Christmas lights fades and the joy of the holiday season comes to a close, the ritual of packing away decorations begins. Each ornament and twinkling string of lights carries a story, a memory etched in time, as I carefully place them into labeled totes, sealing away the magic of another year. With this transition also comes the return to the rhythm of everyday life. The comforting familiarity of my routine beckons, particularly the anticipated ritual of writing that awakens me each morning at 5:30. It’s a peaceful time when the world is still quiet, and I can thoughtfully craft my thoughts on the page, a practice I truly look forward to embracing once more.

Yesterday, I dedicated a considerable amount of time to the business side of my published book. My primary focus was on improving the website to make it as effective as possible. However, I kept encountering glitches, which became quite frustrating. I hope to see more progress today, but it’s up to the publishing company to resolve these issues. I also need to sort through some paperwork, a task that I do not look forward to!
